Leduc Golf Club Releases 2014 Tournament Lineup
Members Set To Have A Ball
Tuesday, April 08, 2014
The venerable Leduc Golf Club has now posted their list of public tourneys they have slated for the 2014 season. The tournament schedule, click here, kicks off with their annual “Club Opener” tilt on May 19. The format will be a four-player scramble with a modified shotgun start commencing at 1:15 PM. Organizers are hoping for as many players as they can get for this always-popular event.
The Men’s Interclub Tryouts is also scheduled for May with the weekend of the 24th/25th set for the competition. This is a limited contest with only 24 spots available. Tee times will be between 9:00 and 10:00 AM.
One of the more challenging events on the club’s busy calendar includes the Longest Day Tournament. This is a unique competition that takes advantage of the vernal equinox which provides our region with 18 hours of daylight on June 21. Trying to get four full rounds of golf in those eighteen hours can be grueling experience but great fodder for future tales at the 19th hole.
Other events that will fill their summer golf card include a two-man scramble on Canada Day, a four-man scramble in September and a net four-man scramble on August 4th. There is also the exciting “Ryder Cup event being held on July 5th and 6th as well as the club championship that is set for August 9th and 10th.
The club social and draft night is slated for July 4th, although the date for the 2014 Ladies Tournament has yet to be decided.
The course calendar extends all the way into October with a Club Closing Rude Pin Scramble on the 4th, weather permitting.
All in all it appears to be an excellent summer of scheduled quality tournaments for the members of the club. Sign up soon and avoid disappointment!
