Anyone Up For a Quick 100 Holes?
(LGCC)The team that keeps Leduc Golf’s operations ticking are pleased to announce they are the official venue for the Summer Solstice Golf Marathon. This charity event pits golfers against the clock as they drive, pitch and putt for 24 hours straight. The event is to help raise funds for the 2016 Alberta Summer Games, which Leduc won the right to host.
It’ll Be a Loooong Day
As the name suggests, this unique event takes place during the Summer Solstice which is the longest day of the year for northern dwelling Earthlings. Being as far up the globe as Leduc is, this means there will be very few hours of darkness which may explain the event’s normally unheard of 8:00 PM start for a tournament. A quick look at this cool graph shows exactly the daylight one can expect for the tourney.
