We are pleased to announce Els for Autism Canada as our 2019 Pro Am benefactor. This was an easy choice given the Leduc Golf Club’s current partnership with the FXG Academy and their work to promote autism awareness.

The Els for Autism Foundation was established in 2009 by Ernie and Liezl Els to focus on the issue of autism.  The Els son Ben is profoundly impacted by the disorder which affects 1 in 68 children in the U.S. For the last four years the world class pro golfer and his wife have devoted their efforts to a catalytic philanthropic project - The Els Center of Excellence.  The first of its kind Center will focus on a digital e- learning platform that gives children on the spectrum around the world access to best practices in education and therapy. It will also help connect the international autism community with best practices and the very latest information and research. The 26 acre facility will also have an on-site education for 300 students ages 3-21, medical and professional services, research, transition to adulthood, adult living and on-site job training. The Foundation has launched a capital campaign to raise $30 million to finance the facility; the Els' have committed $6 million of their own money.

What is the stableford format?

A player scores one point for a bogey, two for par, three for a birdie, four for an eagle and five for an albatross. You win a competition by scoring the most points overall. On an amateur level, if a player takes six shots on a par-four hole but is entitled to a shot because of his handicap, his net score is five earning him 1 point for the net bogey. Players will receive shot based on 75% of their RCGA handicap. A player may pick up his ball once he has reached a net double or more on a hole as no points are rewarded at this point #paceofplay

The 3,2,1 Stableford System refers to the team scoring side. On the first hole your best 3 scores count towards your team total, on hole 2 your best 2 scores count and on hole 3 your best solo score counts for your team points. This rotation continues on for your 18 hole round #birdiejuice
